Lot Valley Cycle Route

The Lot Valley by bike with BicyBAGS, from Cahors to Aiguillon

The full itinerary is largely at the planning stage. BicyBAGS, for its part, operates between Cahors and Aiguillon, where the route crosses that of the Canal des 2 Mers by bike.

From Cahors to Castelfranc, the winding and wild Lot Valley

Take the road on a portion of the winding and wild lot valley where authentic villages and towns of character, steeped in history, follow one another. Cahors, a medieval town, is a fine example. Douelle, Parnac, Luzech, Albas or Castelfranc also have pretty monuments to contemplate and/or visit.

Vineyards, peaceful roads and pretty villages between Castelfranc and Fumel

The route, between greenways and secondary roads, offers you pretty wine estates and remarkable villages such as Puy L’Évèque (hilltop medieval village), Condat and its charming little port or Fumel and its castle.

A widened and less winding Lot between Fumel and Villeneuve-sur-Lot

The bed of the Lot widens after Fumel and meanders much less. You cycle in the heart of plum orchards and through villages, once again, magnificent. Climb to the heights of the medieval town of Penne d’Agenais to enjoy the view. Montsempron-Libos, perched high, is also worth the detour. The pink bell tower of the Sainte-Catherine church tells you that you have arrived in Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

From Villeneuve-sur-Lot to Aiguillon: between market gardening, castles and dovecotes

The latter begins on a pretty greenway built on an old railway line. After Casseneuil, the secondary roads make you discover Castelmoron and its castle, Clairac and its local strawberries 😋 before arriving in Aiguillon, a dynamic medieval village located at the crossroads of the Lot and the Garonne.
